A better way to onboard agencies and contractors
As a global company telling our stories in lots of places, Facebook had work being created all over the world. All that work needed to look and sound like Facebook, and it had to adhere to our brand guidelines. Much of this creative was being done by contractors and external agencies who had received no training on the Facebook brand.
To solve this problem, in 2017 when I was the Editorial Lead for the Guild Studio, I created the Welcome program to onboard internal contractors and external agencies on how they could tell the Facebook story. The program launched in 2018.
Thanks to Welcome, writers, designers, and marketers were able to access our brand guidelines in addition to learning about why we look and sound the way we do. The program was incredibly successful and was used for years to train contractors and agencies around the world.
